Founded in 1988 by Henri-Frédéric Roch, grandson of Henri Leroy and son of Pauline Roch-Leroy, the domaine represents one of the purest expressions of contemporary Burgundy. Henri-Frédéric, also co-owner of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, recovered old family vineyards and embraced organic and biodynamic farming from the very beginning.
The estate covers nearly 20 hectares across Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Clos de Vougeot and Gevrey-Chambertin, including the monopole Clos des Corvées, the domaine’s emblem. After Henri-Frédéric Roch’s passing in 2018, winemaking leadership was taken over by Yannick Champ, who has maintained the same philosophy of minimal intervention: whole-cluster fermentations, zero additives, extended ageing, and absolute respect for the wine’s natural energy.
The wines of Prieuré Roch — enigmatic, vibrant and silky in texture — are now icons of the most free-spirited and soulful expression of Burgundian Pinot Noir.
