Stéphane Tissot and his wife Bénédicte produce truly unique, terroir-driven natural wines on their 35-hectare vineyard in the Jura. Like many contemporary winemakers, Stéphane took over his father’s vineyard with a fresh vision and transformed it into a chemical-free farming operation. He later aligned the estate more closely with the moon and lunar cycles.
Domaine Tissot’s white wines, focused on the regional grape varieties Chardonnay and Savagnin, are precise, pure, and mineral, while the reds (Pinot Noir, Trousseau, and Poulsard) are lighter, red-fruited, and aromatic. Some of their wines include Vin Jaunes, which are special because they are vinified by separate plots, such as “En Spois,” rather than blended, making it the only estate to do so.
