BRÄNNLAND ISCIDER

/Region/ Umeå – Västerbotten (Sweden)  /Varieties/ Local Swedish apples          /Founded/2010 (Andreas Sundgren)

Brännland Iscider was born in 2010 in Umeå, northern Sweden, when Andreas Sundgren set out to bring the Canadian ice cider model to the Nordic climate. Inspired by the extreme nature of Västerbotten, the project works exclusively with Swedish apples, without concentrates or additives, using the natural winter cold for cryo-concentration: the juice is partially frozen outdoors, the water is separated from the sugar, and then the must ferments slowly over several months at low temperature.

The result is complex ice ciders with a balance between sweetness and acidity. The range includes Brännland Iscider Classic, made from late-harvest apples; Iscider Barrique, aged in oak; and Ember, which combines intensity and freshness with lower alcohol content. Brännland has established itself as the benchmark for European ice cider, known for its aromatic purity and uniquely Nordic identity.
